A gallery of Dartmoor moorland images.
Dartmoor is a national park covering 368 square miles in the southwest of the UK. The landscape varies from rural areas and quaint little villages, through rivers and woodland, to remote, boggy, and barren uplands. It is perhaps best known as an upland area covered in rocky outcrops, or tors. There is also much evidence of man’s influence on this area, from ancient stone rows, through more recent mining relics, to the modern military training areas in the northwest of the moor.
This gallery contains some of my favourite images from the open moorland and rural areas. Many of these are late afternoon or early morning photos because of the interest that the low light produces. Please click on an image to open it up in lightbox view.
