The pebblebed heaths is the collective name give to a group of lowland heath commons in East Devon. The heaths form a broad ridge, from Aylesbeare Common in the north to Dalditch Common in the south, along with with Mutters Moor, an area to the east near Sidmouth. The area also includes Woodbury Common, Colaton Raleigh Common, Bicton Common, Hawkerland, Harpford Common, and Lympstone Common. The heaths form part of the East Devon AONB and are a draw for walkers, runners and cyclists.
The pebblebed heaths conservation trust manages the area along with the nearby Otter estuary. Like Dartmoor, the military use the area for training. There is a delicate balance between unspoilt countryside and functional man made structures.
