Heltor Rock, while in the Dartmoor national park, is in the rural north-east corner and not on the moor itself. It is in quite a rural location between Moretonhampstead and the village of Bridford.
This view doesn’t show the tor itself which is a shame – and or that reason I aim to return. On this visit I chose to make a pattern shot between the rocks, which indicates the rural nature of this location.
This is apparently the most northeasterly tor in Dartmoor. Access is by a short footpath between farmers fields. It’s not too far from the B3212 Moretonhampstead to Exeter road.
