Ivy Tor sits along Belstone Cleave on the north edge of Dartmoor on the banks of the river Taw. It’s not hard to find but also not an obvious spot as you walk along the pleasant footpath. My GPS came to the rescue and told me I was there.
The lower rocks are covered in ivy and it’s a little indistinct as a tor. So I decided to go climbing. At the top it becomes a little more obviously a distinct tor. The views up the cleave back towards Belstone are particularly good and I sat down for a spot of lunch, enjoying the autumn colours.
