Welstor Rock sits on Buckland Common in the east of Dartmoor. It has a very famous near neighbour in the shape of Buckland Beacon, famous for its Ten Commandments Stones and, for that reason, is possibly overlooked. However, it is definitely worth a visit. The views are rewarding in all directions but the profile of the rock is problably best appreciated looking east towards the coast.
On my first visit I mistook a slightly higher rock formation for Welstor Rock. However I discovered the true rock on a subsequent visit.
The tor is otherwise known, perhaps unsurprisingly, as Wells Tor.
